10 JULY : DIU BUSTED A FACTORY MANUFACTURING DUPLICATE M/CYCLE TUBES OF “CEAT” BRAND.

Delhi, Outer North : With the arrest of the factory owner namely – Mohd. Akram (Age 41 years), R/o Azad Market, Delhi, the staff of DIU/Outer-North District have busted one factory (in the outskirts of Village Siraspur, Delhi) involved in bulk production of duplicate motorcycle tubes of “CEAT” brand.

INCIDENT:
The complainant Shri Neeraj Kumar gave a complaint to DCP/Outer-North District, Delhi regarding manufacturing duplicate two-wheeler tubes of “CEAT” brand in a factory in Village Siraspur, Delhi. On receipt of his complaint, local intelligence was developed and facts of the complaint were ascertained.

On 09/07/2021, a team comprising – Inspr. Arun Dev Nehra, SI Ajay, SI Hemkaran, W/SI Mumtaz Bano, HC Dinesh and Ct. Sanjeet – was constituted under the supervision of Sh. Dinesh Sharma, ACP/DIU/OND. The team conducted a raid in the factory being run in a godown building situated in Village Siraspur, Delhi. Huge quantity of duplicate M/Cycle Tubes of “CEAT” brand – including fake packing material, dyes, etc. were recovered. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 469/21, u/s 63/65 Copy Right Act was registered at PS Samaipur Badli, Delhi and the accused person was arrested.

INTERROGATION:-
During interrogation, accused Mohd. Akram revealed that he had been in the business of trading of two-wheeler and four-wheeler tubes and his brother Sultan had a shop in Tyre Market, Delhi. In the year 2012, his brother had established the manufacturing unit of duplicated tubes using screen printing technique, but in 2014, the same was raided by DIU/Central District and a case was registered against his brother. Later, the Tyre Market, Delhi was also demolished by the civic authorities and his brother became jobless. So, the accused started his own manufacturing unit of duplicate tubes with help of his brother Sultan. Initially, they started their factory in a rented godown in Khera Village, Delhi, but finally switched to the present location. The brother of accused Akram died in November 2020 and after his demise, accused became sole owner of the factory.  The accused revealed that he used to sell the duplicate products with fake brand name “CEAT” in different parts of Delhi NCR and U.P.


RECOVERY:-
Total 920 loose/unpacked duplicate M/Cycle Tubes of “CEAT” brand.

Total 160 packed duplicate M/Cycle Tubes of “CEAT” brand.

285 fake empty printed polythene packing of “CEAT” brand.

71 plain tubes of M/Cycles ready for printing “CEAT”.

Complete (male & female) dyes having ‘CEAT & ISI’ Mark.

Further investigation is in under process.
