New Delhi : With the arrest of desperate cheats namely 1). Sahil Shokken R/o Bahardurgarh, Haryana, Age 22 Years and 2). Sachin Parasar R/o Rohini, Delhi, Age 20 Years, the team of PS Connaught Place, has busted a syndicate involved in cheating by hiring XUV 500 Mahindra car from from online self driven car rentals company on fake IDs and take away the car by disabling its GPS system. A cheating case FIR No. 51/19, U/s 406/482/411/120B IPC of PS Connaught Place has been cracked.
BRIEF OF THE INCIDENT
Complainant Prashant Sharma, Representative of self driven car rentals company gave a written complaint at PS Connaught Place. He alleged that one person namely Dushyant Chauhan R/o Bakhatwarpur, Delhi booked XUV 500 Car, Reg. No. DL1NA3371 from them. The Time period of booking car start from 16.05.2019 to 17.05.2019 as per the legal agreed rental terms, the accused paid an initial sum of INR 6744/- through online Payments. Accused provided a scanned copy of his driving license, which bears mentioned of his personal details, and the same was produced at the time of picking up of the vehicle. In accordance with the membership agreement with the limited right to use the vehicle for booking period, vehicle was supposed to be returned on 17.05.2019 but alleged did not return the vehicle as well as he also removed the GPS of the Vehicle. The last location of the GPS was found at the Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Complainant tried to contact on the alleged mobile number but his phone was not reachable. Hence, the above mentioned case was registered.
TEAM & INVESTIGATION:
A special team of PS Connaught Place, consisting of SI Amit Kumar, SI Satish Kumar, Ct Rampal. Ct Satyender, Ct Dalip Kumar, under the leadership of SHO Connaught Place Inspector Vinod Narang and overall supervision of Sh. Shobhit D. Saxena, Add/DCP-II New Delhi District, was constituted to investigate the matter & trace the accused persons. The team worked relentlessly and gone through the CCTV footages and developed some important clues. More than hundreds of cheats of the same Modus Operandi were interrogated, but all the efforts of the team turned futile. Numbers of criminal dossiers were scrutinized and out of those few were zeroed down and all the possible hideouts of them checked. Except one most of them were found at their addresses. The team geared up his speed and visited all the possible hideouts of the suspect but all in vain.
Finally on 10-06-19 the labour of the team turned fruitful when SI Amit Kumar received a specific tip of about the suspect. The input was technically developed by team and started chasing the suspect in Rohtak, Jhajar, Bahadurgarh Haryana. After a long hide & seek game the team finally nabbed one suspect Sahil Shokken R/o Bahardurgarh, Haryana, Age 22 Years from Bahadurgarh area, Haryana. On asking the accused broke down and accepted his involvement in the above said case. One other accused namely Sachin Parasar R/o Rohini, Delhi, Age 20 Yrsalso nabbed from Sector 17 Rohini Delhi. After the disclosure the accused persons were arrested in the said case. The case property car XUV 500 Mahindra was also recovered on their instance.
INTERROGATION:
During sustain interrogation accused Sahil Shokken and Sachin Parasar disclosed that they have been a customer of the said rental company for the last 4-5 years and they know the lacunas of the working. He along with his friends Sombeer, Sumit and Sachin planned to hire one car XUV 500 Mahindra on fake documents from fake ID phone number. On 16/05/2019 he along with his associates had taken the delivery of XUV 500 Mahindra from Connaught Place, New Delhi. After that they disable the GPS system of the car near Kundli Border Sonipat and threw the GPS system in a running truck. They had also booked other cars from said company and did not return.
Upon detailed interrogation, they confessed that they had earlier also booked and stolen a number of vehicles with this modus operandi. Once stolen they would take out the GPS and throw it in any passing vehicle to dissuade the investigators. They would then modify the vehicles suitably and supply them to persons who were involved in bootlegging of alcohol from Haryana to UP. They confessed to stealing high end vehicles like Ford Endeavour, Mercedes and Tata Hexa. Further investigation for the recovery of these vehicles is ongoing.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED GYAN PRAKASH @ GYAN NAGAR:
Accused Sahil Shooken, born about 23 years back. He was a national player of Judo Karate but in 2014 he was fallen from the train while he was going to participate in National Games and his foot was damaged. He is said to be preparing for STET exam.
PROFILE OF ACCUSED RISHI KANT:
Accused Sachin Parasar, born about 19 years back in family. He is doing diploma Polytechnic in Electrical from Sonipat, Haryana. He has never been arrested prior to arrest in the present case.
