The team of Anti-Snatching Team of PS Dwarka Sec.-23 has arrested one desperate and active arms supplier Sumit Kharab @ Lambu S/o Late Sh. Sumer Singh R/o VPO Mundhela Khurd, PS Jaffarpur, New Delhi, Age 26 years, supplying illegal fire arms to different Gangs in Delhi and Haryana, from near Nursery Plantation opposite Vardhman Mall, Sector-19, Dwarka. Four sophisticated pistols and one country made pistol along with 02 live rounds were recovered from his possession.
INFORMATION:-
As there was Model Code of Conduct in force due to ongoing Lok Sabha Election-2019 in Delhi. Sh. Rajender Singh, ACP/Dwarka has tasked his Anti-Snatching Team of PS Dwarka Sec-23, led by Inspr. Santan Singh Rawat, SHO/PS Dwarka Sector-23 and Inspr. R. Sriniwasan, ATO, comprising of SI Vivek Maindola, ASI Randhawa, ASI Mahesh Tyagi, HC Subhash and Ct Sajjan to gather necessary information about illegal arms suppliers who supplies illegal arms to different gangs of Delhi and Haryana, who further can affect the peaceful process of ongoing Lok Sabha Election. The team deployed its informers and relentlessly working on it.
These efforts bore fruits, when on 12.05.2019, one of the team members ASI Randhawa received a tip off about one such illegal arms suppliers namely Sumit Kharab @ Lambu r/o VPO Mundhela Khurd, PS Jaffarpur Kalan, New Delhi from one of his informer that accused would come near Nursery Plantation opposite Vardhman Mall, Sector-19 Dwarka, Delhi at about 10:00 PM with a huge consignment of illegal arms and if raided, he can be apprehended with those consignment of illegal arms.
TEAM & OPERATION
The said information was conveyed to senior officers and the team laid an inescapable trap at the place of information. Soon, at 10:15 PM, the accused Sumit Kharab was sighted coming from Village Amberhai, Delhi carrying one black laptop bag. The team closed on him and apprehended him with the laptop bag. The personal search of the accused was conducted and one loaded country made fire arm was recovered from his side waist and one live cartridge from his one of the pocket. Further, search of his laptop bag was done and below a white cloth, four sophisticated pistols along with its magazines were recovered. Accordingly, a FIR No. 164/2019, u/s 25 Arms Act, has been registered in PS Dwarka Sec.23.
INTERROGATION:-
Accused Sumit Kharab @ Lambu was born in his native Village of Mundhela Khurd, PS Jaffarpur Kalan, New Delhi. His father was farmer who died 10 years ago. The family members of accused consist of two brothers and one sister. Due to the death of his father, he left his studies and started doing farming on his land during which he got into the addiction of liquor.
In 2014, he was arrested in PS Bahadurgarh Sadar, Haryana where he came into the contact of several gangs which used to operate in Haryana and Delhi. He quickly assessed the need of illegal fire arms and profit behind it. He then engaged himself in the trade of illegal weapons.
In 2017, he was arrested for possessing a fire arm in the jurisdiction of PS Dwarka Sec-23, Delhi and was sent to Tihar Jail. There, he came into the contact of one inmate Aarush of Khurja, UP who was undergoing judicial custody for the offence of possessing illegal fire arm. The duo assessed the rising market of illegal fire arms and its profit. 4-5 months ago, accused received a huge consignment of illegal fire arm which was being sold by him to the gangs of Haryana and Delhi.
