New Delhi : A secret information was received that an illegal call center is being run in Plot No.7/23, Kirti Nagar, Delhi area and is involved in large scale cyber cheating of US citizen on the pretext of revocation of Social Security Number (SSN) in the garb of a travel agency namely “The Global Airfares”. A raiding team was constituted under ACP Mayank Bansal comprising of Insp Vijay Sanwal, SI Ajay Kumar, SI Dinesh Kirar No.D-4114,SI Pramod , WSI Pankaj Negi, ASI Vikal Singh No.466/Crime, HC Mintu Yadav No.164/Crime, HC Sanjeev Kumar No.284/Crime, HC Narender Kumar No.445/Crime, HC Ramesh Kumar No.373/Crime, CT Anuj Kumar No.1227/Crime, Ct. Amit No.1452/Crime and W/Ct Janita Meena No.2794/Crime and the team departed for the spot and at about 8.30 p.m., on the pointing of the secret informer, the team raided the premises and found around 20-25 persons (male/female) engaged in communicating with the victims. It was further found that they were impersonating as Social Security Administration Department, USA and engaged in using illegal techniques, VOIP calling, bypassing the legal International Long Distance (ILD) Gateways and cheating innocent people based abroad (USA) on the pretext of saving people from suspension of their Social Security Number (SSN). After seeing the raiding team, they disconnected the calls and tried to run away, but could not succeed as they were overpowered by the team. A total of 30 persons, 27male and 3females were involved in this gang and were using high end technical software for making calls impersonating as genuine USA Numbers. The team leader namely Amit Kumar S/o Sh. Raghuveer Pal R/o Sec-24, Rohini, Delhi age-25 Year and Chandrahas Patel S/o Sh. Bhola Patel r/o C-74/75, Nehru Vihar, Mukherjee Nagar, Delhi age-30 and one person namely Narendra Mishra s/o Sh. Devender Mishra R/o L-46, 3rd Floor, Kirti Nagar, Delhi age-33 year were found present who introduced themselves as manager of this call center and one Amit Tyagi s/o Sushil Tyagi r/o Khasra No.415/4, Laxmi Vihar, Burari, Delhi Age-25 year was also found present who introduced himself as owner of this Call Centre. Amit Tyagi further admitted that he is also running similar remote call center at B-85, 4th Floor, Phase-2, Mangolpuri, Delhi, Delhi by using cloud server. Thereafter, a raiding team consisting SI Pramod D-5825, W/SI Pankaj Negi D-84, HC Rajesh 494/Crime, HC Satypal 1268/Crime and other lower staff raided the call centre at B-85, 4th Floor, Phase-2, Mangolpuri, Delhi and found 67 persons(49 male , 16 female and two juvenile) engaged in large scale cyber cheating with US citizen on the pretext of suspension/misuse of Social Security Number (SSN) under the Garb of ‘TeleOne E-commerce Agency’.
During further proceeding, the alleged owner Amit Tyagi, the owner of this fake call center informed that one Vinay Tyagi r/o L-46, 2nd Floor, Kirti Nagar, Delhi is his partner in this call centre. On asking about any license/authority to run this call center, the alleged Amit Tyagi could not produce any authority. After duping the victims, they were asked to buy gift cards and provide the information to the supervisor on the call for resumption of their suspended account. These gift coupons are shared with a person abroad who would convert these and wire it to the accounts of the accused in form of deposits.
On the basis of the above, prima facie an offence u/s 419/420/120-B /34 IPC and 66C/66D IT Act was made out and case has been registered at Crime Branch-Cyber Unit for further investigation.
