These officers solved mohit murder case within 24 hours
New Delhi : With the arrest of accused person namely Kamal Chauhan aged 32 years r/o Karol Bagh, Delhi, the joint team of Special Staff of Central District and Police Station Prasad Nagar, the murder case of PS Prasad Nagar reported on the intervening night of 08- 09/06/19 has been cracked down within 24 hours. The weapon of offence i.e. one country made pistol along with 2 live cartridges has been recovered.
INCIDENT
- Deceased Mohit
Shri Rajender Singh r/o Karol Bagh, Delhi reported that on the intervening night of 08-09.06.19, his son Mohit aged 31 years was shot by his neighbour Kamal Chauhan by a pistol nearby his house and escaped. The injured was shifted to BLK Hospital, Karol Bagh where he was declared brought dead. Subsequently, a case vide FIR No. 116/19 u/s 302 IPC & 27/54/59 Arm Act was registered at PS Prasad Nagar and investigation was taken up.
TEAM AND INVESTIGATION
It was revealed that the accused has one previous case against him and he was absconding from his house after the incident. Seeing the gravity of the incident, the staff of Operation Cell was also roped in for solving the case and a team led by Inspr. Lalit Kumar I/C Special staff/Central comprising of SI Sandeep Kumar, ASI Baljeet, HC Satbir Singh, HC Sunil Kumar, HC Vinod Kumar, HC Chander Shekhar, Ct. Praveen Kumar, Ct. Mahinder Singh was formed under the supervision of Shri Naresh Kumar ACP/Operations, Central District along with the team of local police led by Inspr. Dhiraj Singh SHO/Prasad Nagar under the supervision of Shri H.S.P. Singh, ACP/Karol Bagh. During investigation, secret informers were deployed and technical surveillance was also mounted.
Arrested accused Kamal Chouhan
All these efforts gave fruitful results and the accused Kamal Chauhan was arrested from the area of Narela Industrial Area in the afternoon of 09.06.19 while he was trying to flee from Delhi to Jharkhand in his car. The weapon of offence i.e. country made pistol was also recovered from his instance.
INTERROGATION
The accused person was subjected to sustained interrogation in which it was revealed that the accused and the deceased were close friends but some trivial issues were raised between them some time before. On the day of incident, a heated argument took place between them and the accused shot the deceased with his pistol in an alley near the house and flee from the spot. Further investigation is under progress and efforts are being made to trace the source of illegal weapon.
