A team of police officials of Special Staff of Dwarka District led by Insp. Naveen Kumar and comprising of SI Ranjeev Tyagi, ASI Mahabir, HC Raj Kumar, Ct. Kulbhushan, Ct. Sumit, & Ct. Ashwani, under the close supervision of ACP Rajender Singh Yadav, arrested a desperate criminal possessing sophisticated pistol and 02 live rounds. He, along with his associates, had assaulted a Govt. Employee at Licensing Authority Ghummanhera, Delhi vide FIR No. 167/19, U/S 323/324/34 IPC, dtd 30.04.19, PS Chhawla.
INCIDENT:
On 29.04.19, an information was received at PS Chhawla regarding assault on a person near Ghummanhera Village. Local police reached the spot and found that one injured person has been taken to hospital. At the hospital, injured (the victim), a Head Clerk in Transport Authority Ghummanhera, Delhi and resident of Ghummandhera village, got recorded his statement that he was assaulted by one Nakul of his village along with his associates, when he was coming home after office hours on 29.04.19. An FIR No. 167/19 U/S 323/324/34 IPC, dtd 30.04.19 PS Chhawla was registered regarding the incident and investigation was taken up by local police.
TEAM & OPERATION:
Special Staff/Dwarka has been striving to minimize criminal activities in the area and also to arrest the persons possessing illegal firearms/ammunition in the election season. A dedicated team has been mounting surveillance at several places in Dwarka Distt, also to ensure safe and free election process in the area, till vote counts. Taking note regarding assault over a public servant on public road, the team took up the task of arresting the accused named in the FIR but he had absconded to unknown place. It was ascertained that Nakul was ex- sharp-shooter of infamous Naveen Khati Gang but had parted ways sometimes back and formed his own ‘Kobra Gang’ with associates. The gang had started extorting money from the persons working as touts in Ghummanhera Authority.
On 19.05.2019, the team got information that a criminal possessing illegal firearm/ammunition and master mind of assault over a staff member of Licensing Authority, Ghummanhera would come to his village at about 4:00 PM. The team swung into action to develop the information and laid a trap on the road leading to Ghummanhera, near Jhuljhuli Mor. A suspect was stopped on the basis of suspicion who tried to flee but was controlled and interrogated. On interrogation, he was identified as – Nakul S/O Ajeet Singh R/O VPO- Ghummanhera, PS Chhawla, New Delhi, Age 24 Yrs. One Pistol 0.32″ with two live rounds was found on the person of the accused. He is also a BC of PS Chhawla. During interrogation, he confessed that he and his associates had assaulted an employee of Ghummanhera Transport/Licensing Authority on 29.04.19. As he was found in possession of illegal firearm/ammunition, he was arrested vide FIR No. 190/19 U/s 25/27 Arms Act dated 19.05.19, PS Chhawla.
INTERROGATION:
Accused Nakul is permanent resident of Village Ghummanhera, Delhi and is 9th pass only. He worked as driver in a Call Centre but could not work for long as he fell in bad company and started taking liquor and other drugs. He joined infamous Naveen Khati Gang of Najafgarh and carried out
several assaults on life of others. He was arrested several times while possessing illegal firearms/ammunition and for carrying assaults to murder also. Sometimes back he parted ways from Naveen Khati Gang as he was getting less money from the gang, and decided to form his own. He named his gang as ‘Kobra Gang’ and roped in his previous associates to join the gang. Kobra Gang planned to extort money from touts around Ghummanhera Authority as protection money but he did not get enough response. To establish supremacy and recognition of his newly formed Kobra Gang, he assaulted the Head Clerk after minor argument on 29.04.2019. But after realizing that he has assauted a Govt. Servant, he absconded to Haryana and remained underground but all his money exhausted within few days. He was planning to meet someone for getting some money so that he
can evade police for some more time but was trapped by the team of Special Staff Dwarka.

Nakul S/O Ajeet Singh R/O VPO- Ghummanhera, PS Chhawla , New Delhi,
Age 24 Yrs (Previously involved in several cases of Attempt to murder,
Arms Act etc. He is BC of PS Chhawla).
RECOVERY:
• One Pistol 0.32″ bore
• Two live rounds.
