INTRODUCTION
In order to check the movement of criminals and firearms in the area, multiple teams are deployed in North West district. Special Drive has been launched in North-West District to curb robbery/snatching and other street crimes in the area. North-West Disrtict Keeping in mind the movement of criminals in the night, pickets as well as patrolling staff is intensively deployed at night.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION
In the intervening night of 12/13.06.19, while police staff was patrolling in the area of P.S Subhash Place, SI Himanshu and HC Sumit came across one public person namely Arjun who stated that one notorious criminal namely Shrikant @ Appu had robbed his white Bullet Enfield M/cycle at gun point. On this, the patrolling staff of P.S Subhash Place become extra alert and started conducting search in this regard. Later on, another complainant namely Rajesh also met police team and complained that a motorcycle rider on a white motorcycle along-with a girl on the pillion had robbed his two gold chains.
After this, SI Himanshu and HC Sumit started gathering information of the accused persons involved in the crime and got clue from auto-drivers that said motorcycle has gone towards ring road. On this, SI Himanshu with HC Sumit chased the said m/cycle and intercepted the said motorcycle and warned them to stop. On this, accused person namely Shrikant @ Appu fired on the police personnel with his weapon with the help of his female associate. The police personnel somehow ducked and took cover fire behind their motorcycle and managed to save themselves. Police personal warned the accused to not take law into their hands and fired one round in the air to warn the accused. After this, accused Shrikant @ Appu fired another round at police personnel. Thereafter, in order to protect the life of his colleague and himself, HC Sumit fired two rounds towards accused in retaliation. The accused got injured and tried to run away. Later on, accused Shrikant @ Appu was apprehended on the spot by showing exemplary courage and high sense of duty while his female accomplice (name later known as Pooja) managed to escape. After this, accused Shrikant @ Appu was shifted to Bhagwan Mahavir Hospitalm Pitampura for the purpose of treatment and a case vide FIR No. 180/19, U/S 186/332/353/307/34 IPC was registered at P.S Subhash Place, Delhi and investigation was taken up. One country-made pistol along with fired cartridges along-with robbed Royal Enfield M/Cycle was also recovered from the possession of accused.
During investigation of the case, female accomplice of accused (Shrikant @ Appu) namely Pooja was arrested in the present case and two robbed gold chains were also recovered from her possession.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS
- Shrikant @ Appu, age- 34 years is presently residing at Sector-7, Rohini, Delhi, Age- 34 Years. Accused is unmarried and involved in about 12 heinous cases including murder, attempt to murder, dacoity etc and is a notorious criminal of Shakurpur, Delhi. Accused was released from jail two months ago and he started regrouping with his accomplices. Accused Shrikant @ Appu is previously involved in 12 criminal cases which are as below:-

- Accused Pooja Shakurpur, Delhi and is aged about 20 years. She has studied upto 10th class and dropped her study and was friends with accused Shrikant @ Appu.
Investigation of the case is in progress. The staff of PS Subhash Place led by SHO Subash Place under the supervision of ACP Subash Place has shown exemplary courage, dedication and acted in a professional manner thereby nabbing a dreaded criminal.
