- Two accused arrested.

New Delhi : The Anti Human Trafficking Unit, Crime Branch has busted a desperate gang of snatchers and autolifters active in the Outer, Rohini, North West and West Districts of Delhi. The gang is notoriously called the Bachhan Gang because of Rohit @ Bachhan who is the leader of the gang. Two persons that have been arrested are : –
1. Rohit @ Bachhan r/o Krishan Vihar, Sultanpuri, Delhi age-22 years.
2. Rahul @ Sachin r/o Sultanpuri, Delhi age-22 years.
The duo have disclosed involvement in more than 80 incidents of mobile phone and lady handbag snatching in Outer, Rohini, North-West and West Districts of Delhi. 10 stolen bikes and 3 snatched phones have been recovered from them.
INFORMATION, TEAM & OPERATION
On 18-06-2019 information was received by ASI Pawan, Sanjay and Ct Rajender of AHTU, Crime Branch that Rohit and Rahul are involved in a number of autolifting and snatching cases. A team was constituted under the supervision of ACP Surender Kumar Gulia, led by Sub Insp. Dheeraj and Sub Insp Virender Tyagi comprising of ASI Sanjay, Birender, Naresh, HCs Anil, Jasbeer, Satish Cts Ravinder, Parveen to nab the criminals.A trap was laid and both Rohit and Rahul were apprehended near Sultanpuri Bus terminal.
INTERROGATION
On sustained interrogation, they admitted to their involvement in a large number of autolifting and snatching cases. 10 stolen bikes (Motorcycle and Scooty) along with three snatched mobile phones were recovered from their possession. The duo disclosed involvement in more than 80 cases of autolifting and snatching in Delhi. Rohit has a past criminal record. He came out of jail in March. 2019. After coming out, he formed a gang of criminals expert in snatching mobile phones and lady handbags in the area. They did not have adequate number of bikes so they decided to steal them.
The gang has bore than half a dozen members. Total 12 FIRs have been linked as per the recovered articles (10 Motorcycles and 03 Mobile phones) and the incidents as disclosed by them. More than 80 Mobile phones and purse snatching are also being verified.

3. Motorcycle Yamaha FZ Red colour DL-9S-BQ-1495 theft from Palam area areafor which E-FIR 019741/19 PS Palam has been registered.
4. Motorcycle TVS Red colour HR 10 L 7379 theft from Adarsh Nagar areafor which E-FIR 031854/19 PS Adarsh Nagar has been registered.
5. Scooty Honda Activa theft from South Rohini areafor which E-FIR 024640/18 PS South Rohini has been registered.
6. Motorcycle Yamaha FZ Blue colour DL-8S-BR-2080 theft from Keshav Puram areafor which E-FIR 020107/19 PS Keshav Puram has been registered.
7. Motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar Black Colour DL-6S-AX-8814 theft from Prasad Nagar areafor which E FIR 020168/18 PS Prasad Nagar has been registered.
8. Motorcycle TVS Appache Black Colour HR-36-P-6341 theft from South Rohini area for which E FIR 034152/18 PS South Rohini has been registered.
9. Motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar Black Colour HR-12-Z-4301 theft from Mundka area for which E-FIR 000134/19 PS
Mundka has been registered. 10. Motorcycle Bajaj Pulsar Black Colour DL-8S-AV-9369 theft from Vijay Vihar area for which E-FIR 005287/19 PS Vijay Vihar has been registered.
11. VIVO Mobile phone golden colour theft from Sarai Rohilla area for which E-FIR 000376/19 PS Sarai Rohilla has been registered.
12. MI Mobile phone golden colour theft from Sarai Rohilla area for which E-FIR 000103/19 PS Sarai Rohilla has been registered.
MODUS OPERANDI
The gang used to target people walking alone and talking on their phones. They just slowed down the motorcycle and the pillion rider snatched away the phone from the hand of the victim. They sued the same Modus Operandi to snatch hand bags.
PREVIOUS INVOLVEMENT AND PROFILE
The previous involvement of Rohit @ Bacchan is still being verified. He is a school dropout.
Rahul @ Sachin’s was found involved in 4 cases including attempt to murder, robbery and snatching of Police Stations Rohini North and Saraswati Vihar. He is also a school dropout. Other gang members have been identified and are all residents of Sultanpuri, Delhi. The receiver of snatched mobile phones has also been identified , he is a resident of Sultanpuri. All the remaining accused persons are absconding. Efforts are being made to apprehend them soon. The concerned police stations have ben informed about the arrest of Rohit and Rahul. Further investigation in the case is on.
