CASE OF KIDNAPPING FOR RANSOM OF PS JAMA MASJID SOLVED

New Delhi :  With the arrest of four accused persons namely Rajeev Kumar aged 19 years,
Chandan aged 21 years, Sikander aged 20 years and, Rahul aged 19 years, all residents of Village Rajokari, Delhi, the staff of Police Station Jama Masjid, CentralDistrict has solved a sensational case of kidnapping for ransom of PS Jama Masjid within 12 hours of reporting. The kidnapped boy has also been rescued safely from Vill.Rajokari, Delhi.

INCIDENT
On 28.07.19, one lady r/o Distt. Kaushambi, U.P. reported that on 25.07.19, she along with her husband and 18 ½ year old son had come to Delhi and stayed in a hotel in the area of Jama Masjid to visit historical places of Delhi. In the afternoon of 28.07.19, her son had gone to Metro Station Jama Masjid to meet his friend but he did not come back. When the complainant called her son on his mobile phone, some other person attended the phone and told that her son has been kidnapped and he demanded Rs. 4 lacs for his release. Subsequently, a case of kidnapping for ransom vide FIR u/s 364A IPC was registered at PS Jama Masjid and investigation was taken up.

TEAM AND INVESTIGATION
Considering the sensitivity of the case, a team led by Inspr. Karan Singh Rana SHO/Jama Masjid, Insp. Mahesh Kumar (ATO), SI Pawan Yadav, ASI Amarpal, Ct. Johny Baliyan, Ct. Prem and Ct. Roshan was constituted under the supervision of Shri Veer Singh, ACP/Darya Ganj. During investigation, it was revealed that the complainant had received ransom calls from the mobile number of her kidnapped son. The kidnappers also gave the details of a bank account for depositing the ransom money. The complainant also informed that accused persons had initially demanded Rs. 4 lacs but later they reduced their demand to Rs. 50,000/-. However, the complainant was not in a position to pay the ransom amount due to her poor financial condition.

The police team immediately mounted technical surveillance and the location of the mobile phone of kidnapped boy was found in the areas near Delhi-Gurgaon border and the location was frequently changing. The police team continued their efforts and after conducting several raids, four kidnappers were nabbed from Village Rajokari, Delhi and the kidnapped boy Victim was also rescued from their clutches. The Maruti Dezire car used for the crime was also recovered at the instance of the accused persons.

INTERROGATION
All the accused persons were subjected to sustained interrogation in which accused Rajeev disclosed that he was known to the victim as they had earlier worked in a Shoe company together. Even after leaving that job, they were in tough with each other over phone. Recently, Victim had told him that he had earned a lot of money while working at Surat. When Rajiv came to know that Victim along with his family was in Delhi, he planned to kidnap Victim. On 28.07.19, he along with associates Sikander, Chandan and Rahul came near Gate No. 1, Metro Station Jama Masjid and called Victim to come at Gate No. 1 on some pretext. Then, they drove away Victim in their car and took him to Rajokari, Delhi. On the way, they asked Victim to ask his mother to pay Rs. 4 lacs for his release. When they realized that she would not be able to pay such a big amount, they reduced the amount to Rs. 50,000/-. He used the mobile phone of victim Victim to make ransom calls. They kept roaming from one place to another near to their residence so that nobody could track them. In the early morning hours of 29.07.19, they took the victim boy at Shani Bazar Road, Rajokari Village. Meanwhile, the police team also reached there and apprehended them.

PROFIFE OF ACCUSED PERSONS
All the accused persons are semi literate and residing in Vill. Rajokari, Delhi.
They are presently working in an online food supplying company at Sector 23, Gurgaon.
