ARRESTED SHAKEEL AND RASHID ARE DREADED ROBBERS OPERATING IN DELHI-NCR

• BOTH WERE INVOLVED IN MORE THAN 85 CRIMINAL CASES OF HEINOUS NATURE IN DELHI.
• SHAKEEL WAS HAVING A REWARD OF RS. 50,000/- DECLARED BY DELHI POLICE ON INFORMATION LEADING TO HIS ARREST.
• TWO SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISOTLS OF .32 AND 8 LIVE CARTRIDGES RECOVERED.

 

A team of Special Cell/SR led by Insp. Shiv Kumar under the supervision of ACP Attar Singh has arrested two desperate robbers namely Shakeel Ahmad (age 35 years) s/o Mukhtar Ahmad r/o H. No. 622, NavjeewanSamiti, Kodhi Colony, Nand Nagar, Delhi and Rashid @ Sonu (age-28 years) s/o Late Munna Khan r/o T-hut No. 93, E-37, Block 27, TrilokPuri, Delhi. Both have been arrested from their rented house No. A-125/4, at ground floor, Shahin Bagh, Jamia Nagar, Delhi on 02.04.2019 at about 2 PM. Two semi automatic pistols of .32 along with 8 live cartridges have been recovered from duo at the time of their arrest. A case under appropriate sections of law have been registered in PS Special Cell.

INFORMATION

There was an information with Inspr. Shiv Kumar that Shakeel who is kingpin of a robbers gang along with his associate Rashid had made their hideout in Jamia Nagar area for last two months. Shakeel along with his associates was wanted in a number of cases including of heinous nature like murder, dacoity, rape etc. in Delhi. It was also known that Shakeel was planning commission of a big dacoity of cash in Delhi. Said information was developed by deputing secret sources in the area. Discreet surveillance was kept on the members of this gang.

During surveillance, it was found that Shakeel was wanted in three fresh cases. He was having a reward of Rs. 50,000/- in a case of armed dacoity, committed on 17.09.2018 in broad daylight in the area of Jagatpuri, Delhi. In the said dacoity, Shakeel along with his 5/6 associates had waylaid a businessman Umesh Bansal and his employee Ram Sewak in Old Arjun Nagar area and tried to rob them at gunpoint. When victims resisted, gang members opened fire and injured Ram Sewak. They robbed Rs. 15 lacs from them and fled from the scene. A reward of Rs. 50,000/- was declared on information leading to the arrest of Shakeel in this case.

OPERATION :

Inspr. Shiv Kumar received an information on 02.04.2019, that Shakeel along with his associate Rashid would come to their rented house in Shahin Bagh, Delhi. Said house was earlier got identified by the police team. A raid was conducted in the said house at in the afternoon of 2^nd April 2019. When members of police team knocked the door, desperdos did not open it. When police forcibly opened the door, Shakeel and Rashid whipped out their pistols and threatened to fire. Members of police team however overpowered them. Two semi automatic pistol of .32 along with 8 live cartridges were recovered from their possession.

 

INTERROGATION :-

 

Arrested Shakeel and Rashid were thoroughly interrogated. It is revealed in the interrogation that Shakeel is previously involved in more than 70 cases of dacoity, robbery, snatching, extortion, kidnapping, attempt to murder, assault on police, hurt, arms act etc. He also disclosed that he along with Rashid and other associate burgled the house of the famous poet Shri Ashok Chakradhar in the area of Sarita Vihar and took cash and valuables from the house, but his awards and medals luckily remained intact. Shakeel is facing trial in many criminal cases in various courts but he is not appearing in these cases. Process to declare PO in these cases is going on. In one such case of PS Jagatpuri, pertaining to assault on the police, he was declared PO. Shakeel has been previously arrested in 25 cases of robbery/dacoity, 20 cases of snatching, 5 cases of assault on the police and many other cases of kidnapping, extortion, criminal intimidation, arms act, NDPS act etc. Shakeel had started his criminal career in the year 2000.  Since than, he has been continuously committing crime. Shakeel is brother in law of notorious Satyaprakash @ Satte of trans Yamuna.

 

Arrested Rashid is previously involved in more than 15 cases of various nature including murder, dacoity, arms act, rape, burglary etc. He has disclosed that on 23.07.2018, he alongwith his other associates had murdered one young boy namely Akash in the area of PS MayurVihar. He  is also involved in a rape case of minor girl FIR of which is registered PS MayurVihar, Delhi. He alongwith Shakeel had committed burglary in the house of famous poet Shri Ashok Chakradhar.

Profile of Shakeel Ahmad :

Shakeel Ahmad belongs to a poor family. He has studied upto 9^th standard. He is married and has a kid. His sister is married to notorious gangster Satyaprakash @ Satte. In his early age he came in contact with bad elements and started his criminal activities like extortion, snatching, robbery etc. His brother in law Satyaprakash @ Satte initiated him into the crime world. He was first time arrested in a case of arms act in the year 2002 in PS Nand Nagri, Delhi. Thereafter he has been reguarly commiting crime.

Profile of Rashid :

Rashid @ Sonu also belongs to a poor family. He is school dropout. He is married and has a kid.  At the age of 15, he joined a shop as salesman of PVC doors. In the year 2010, he came in contact with bad elements of his area and started his criminal activities.  He is previously involved in more than 15 cases. He is wanted in 3 fresh cases of murder, rape and burglary in Delhi.
