Arrest of five accused persons

New Delhi : A joint team of police officials of PS Dwarka(South), Special Staff & Cyber Crime Cell of Dwarka District comprising of Insp. Ram Niwas SHO/Dwarka South, Insp. Naveen Kumar, SI Ganesh Kumar I/c PP Sector-1, SI Ranjeev Tyagi, SI Mahender, ASI Jagdeesh, ASI Bijender, ASI Umesh, HC Rakesh, Ct Jagdish & Ct Sunil, under the close supervision of Sh. Rajender Singh, ACP/Dwarka & Sh. Joginder Singh Joon, ACP/Operations, arrested five desperate criminals who had robbed a cab driver of his car, mobiles and cash on the midnight of 04/05.01.2020. The robbery was registered vide FIR No. 05/20 U/S 392/397/413/34 IPC, 25/27 Arms Act dated- 05.01.2020 PS Dwarka South.

INCIDENT

A PCR call was received at Police Post Dwarka Sector-1 at about 02:45 AM on 05.01.2020 regarding robbery of a car by 5-6 unidentified criminals near RajapuriChowk,Dwarka. Local police reached at the spot and ascertained that one Hyundai Xcent Cab was robbed alongwith two mobile phones and Rs 600/- by six unknown criminals on Scooty/Motorcycle from driver/complainant Sh. MadanLal S/O Late sh. Peeru Ram R/o Bhagat Enclave, Matiala Road, Bindapur Delhi. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 05/20, dated 05.01.20, u/s 392/397/413/34 IPC, 25/27 Arms Act was registered at PS Dwarka South, Delhi and investigation was taken up.

TEAM & OPERATION

Dwarka District had been striving to curb crime in the area but the car robberies on a public road were a challenge for the efforts of the police. To work out the instant case at the earliest, a joint team of sleuths from PP Sec-1 Dwarka, Special Staff & Cyber Cell was formed.Though the car had GPS fitted but it was dysfunctional. The robbed mobile phone was showing its location at various parts of the city with frequent change. But this was the vital clue and was pursued sincerely. Without wasting any time, team trailed the locations of the robbed mobiles but being a congested area of the route, exact position is always impossible. Absence of exact location remained continuous hardship which further needed specialized police investigation.

Further, several informers were briefed and deployed for efficient investigation to pin point the location of the robbed car/mobiles and catch the culprits of the case. An instant strategy was finalized and team scattered itself into small groups and crept into the narrow streets near the mobile locations. The strategy worked and few boys were seen in a park while trying to start a bike. Though they tried to escape while seeing the police, two of them were overpowered by the group led by SI Ganesh.

On interrogation their identity revealed as Ghanshyam Makan and Vicky. Robbed carbon mobile, part of robbed cash and one button operated knife were recovered from them. KTM Duke Motorcycle (stolen from PS- Panjabi Bagh) and one Jupiter Scooty were also recovered from the spot. Both criminals admitted that they, along with four associates, had committed the car robbery. It was also ascertained that the scooty Jupiter was used in commission of the robbery. Both criminals were arrested in the case.

One day police custody of both the accused was obtained to arrest remaining criminals. During the PC remand three more criminals 1) Simardeep, 2) Kasim & 3) Shubham were arrested. The robbed car was also recovered from Dwarka on their instance. All the accused have been arrested and being produced before the court.

INTERROGATION

Accused Shubham works at a garment shop and studied upto 8th class. His father runs an egg shop on Rehdi.

Accused Vicky studied upto 6th class and worked as housekeeping staff in a petrol pump. His father is a sweeper in MCD.

Accused Simardeep is 10^th pass and works at a mobile repair shop. His his father is an auto driver. His salary from mobile shop evaporates in beer and costly cigarettes.

Accused Ghanshyam @ Gunnu is 12^th from a Private school, Uttam Nagar and his father works at a book stall in Tilak Nagar. He works as gym trainer at gym of his relative.

Accused Kasim is permanent resident of Vill- Karha, Distt- Azamgarh (UP) and works as a bike mechanic and had dropped out of school in first class itself. His father is auto driver.

All accused reside in the home owned by family and are friend since long. They fell in bad company and started smoking and consuming liquor and started committing petty offences. They were fascinating about the snowfall and wanted to tour Shimla with their girlfriends. But they were always short of money. They decided to rob at least two cars so that all the persons and their respective girlfriends may be accommodated so they planned accordingly.

Few days back they stole a high speed duke bike from Punjabi Bagh area so that they can evade police in case they are chased. In the late evening of 04.01.2020 they all got together in Uttam Nagar area and consumed liquor together. They started on bike and scooty to spot their target in Dwarka area. They spotted victim’s car and stopped him by keeping their two wheelers on the car’s sides and robbed him of his car, mobiles and cash. After taking the car, two persons got into the car and remaining started on scooty/bike.

They straight went to Rajouri Garden side to misguide police and then after being ensured that police is not trailing them, returned to Uttam Nagar. After parking the car at a secluded place, they returned to Uttam Nagar on their two wheelers and then stayed in a park for a while and were planning to rob another car from nearby area. But when they were trying to get out of park, a police team spotted them. While three escaped from the spot, the team caught two of them who were arrested and interrogated. Others were also arrested later by the joint team and car was recovered on their instance.

Vicky S/o Ashok Kumar, R/o Hastsal Vihar, Uttam Nagar, Delhi, Age-23 Years.
Subham Sachdeva S/o Satish Sachdeva, R/o Dal Mill Road, Uttam Nagar Age-19.
Kasim Khan @ Sameer S/o Asraf Khan, R/o D-30, Block-V, Sector-D, Bhagwati Vihar, Uttam Nagar, age -18 yrs.
