HUNDRED CARTONS CONTAINING 4,982 QUARTERS OF ILLICIT LIQUOR SMUGGLED INTO DELHI FROM HARYANA RECOVERED FROM INNOVA CAR BY THE STAFF OF PS MOHAN GARDEN, DELHI
INTRODUCTION
A strict watch by police to curb use of liquor in ongoing political activity and
Lok Sabha Election 2019 in the capital resulted in recovery of 100 cartons of illicit liquor containing 4,982 Quarters of illicit liquor being smuggled into Delhi from the neighboring state of Haryana by the syndicate inInnova car bearing No. DL-1C-Q- XXXX. The commendable recovery has been done by the staff of PS Mohan Garden under the leadership of Inspr. Baljeet Singh, SHO/Mohan Garden, comprising of HC Dharambir, Ct. Dinesh under the close supervision of Sh. Vijay Singh Yadav, ACP/Najafgarh.
OPERATION TEAM :
To curb street crimes and to enhance the sense of security among citizens in
Dwarka District, extensive patrolling covering widespread areas are being carried out round the clock by Dwarka District Police on the direction of DCP/Dwarka District. On 06.05.2019, HC Dharmbir, Ct. Dinesh were patrolling at 55 Feet Road near Poshwal Chowk, Vipin Garden, Delhi. Around 11:00 AM, they received information that one Innova car would come via 55 Feet Road, Poshwal Chowk and would go further via Ganda Nala Road to Ranhola, Delhi. They shared the information with Inspr. Baljeet Singh, SHO/PS Mohan Garden and immediately a trap was laid down at 55 Feet Road, Vipin Garden on the direction of SHO/Mohan Garden. At around 02:30 PM, one innova car was seen coming from Poswal Chock to 55 Feet Road. The Police staff signaled the car to stop, but the driver of the innova car did not stop and speedily moved the car towards Jain Road and then turned on Budh Bazar Road. Alert staff chased the offending Innova car. The Innova car driver

drove the car in very rash and negligent manner on bumpy, stony/rocky Road, due to which, left side of rear tyre burst out and the driver became helpless in moving the car ahead. The driver jumped out of Innova car and succeeded in escaping. During checking of Innova car, total 100 cartons of illicit, which includes 91 cartons containing 50 quarters each i.e. 4550 quarters of Asli Masaledar Santra Desi Liquor and 09 cartons containing 48 quarters each i.e. 432 quarters of Impact Grain Whiskey, recovered from its rear portion. During enquiry, the above offending vehicle was found registered in the name of Sunny R/o, Deepak Vihar Najafgarh. Raids were made to nab Sunny, but he is absconding.

Further investigation of the case is in progress and efforts are being made to
nab the owner of the car and to identify the suppliers of illicit liquor.
