New Delh : 11:55 am : Three teams of Central Distt. has apprehended one dreaded criminal/burglar namely: 1) Sumit @ Hakla aged 29i  years s/o Raj Kumar r/o I- Block, Bapa Nagar, Karol Bagh, Delhi and two receiver of stolen mobile phones/chargers namely 2) Rajesh Kumar @ Chikna aged 37 years s/o Pratap Singh r/o Shidhipura, Karol Bagh, Delhi and 3) Rameshwar @ Alloo aged 30 years s/o Udaiveer Singh r/o I-Block, Bapa Nagar, Karol Bagh, Delhi.
84 stolen mobile phones and 40 chargers recovered. One case of house theft regd. vide FIR No 105/20 u/s 380 IPC, PS Paharganj has been solved.

Team and Operation:
To curb the recent spurt in snatching/burglaries/theft/mobile theft cases the staff of Central District were directed to identified the robbers/burglars/snatchers/thieves and receivers of stolen properties/mobile phones. First teams led by Insp. Madhukar Rakesh, SHO/DBG Road comprising of ASI Vinod, HC Shekhar, Ct. Atul, Ct Ravi & Ct Praveen and 2nd led by Insp. Sunil Kumar, SHO/Paharganj comprising of ASI Abhey Raj and Ct Rajpal were formed under the supervision of Shri Om Prakash, ACP/Paharganj. Third team led by Insp. Lalit Kumar, I/C, Special Staff comprising of SI Prem, ASI Yogender, ASI Baljeet, ASI Sushil, HC Satbir, Ct Amit and Ct Sandeep was also formed under the close supervision of Shri Naresh Kumar, ACP/Ops/C. The teams collected intelligence in the area and gathered information.

Investigation and arrested:
During this operation, the teams developed information regarding gangs indulging in similar modus operandi of snatching and theft cases and also gathered

information regarding receivers of the stolen/snatched case properties. Painstaking efforts were put in and the criminal intelligence system was activated. The inputs received were analyzed and subjected to the incidents specific scrutiny. Technical surveillance was also mounted on the suspected receivers of stolen/snatched mobile phones.

On 16.05.20, the team of PS: DBG Road was present near Gaushala Road, Double Fatak and a secret information was received to Ct. Praveen that one notorious and habitual receiver of stolen mobile phones namely Rajesh Kumar @ Chikna would come to DCM Labour Chowk, Gaushala Road to sell off the stolen mobile phones. Acting upon this information, a trap was laid at Gaushala Road. At about 10.20 pm one boy holding a hand bag in his hand was seen coming from Shidipura. The police team managed to overpower and apprehended him who was identified as Rajesh Kumar @ Chikna s/o Pratap Singh r/o Shidhipura, Karol Bagh, Delhi. On searching the bag some mobile phones and chargers were found. He was asked to show the ownership of the mobile phones and chargers but, he failed to produce the bill/papers and starting misleading the police team. After interrogation, he disclosed that he had purchased the stolen mobile phones from a burglar namely Sumit Hakla on lower rate and he would sell the same at higher rates. 45 stolen mobile phone (29 of Oppo & 16 of Realme) and 40 chargers have been recovered from his possession. During verification, the mobile phones were found stolen from Paharganj area. He was arrested u/s 41.1 (d) Cr.P.C. and produced before the court and granted one day Police Custody Remand by the I.O.

Meanwhile, ASI Yougender, Special Staff, Central District received a secret information and apprehended the said burglar namely 1) Sumit @ Hakla aged 29 years s/o Raj Kumar r/o I- Block, Bapa Nagar, Karol Bagh, Delhi and another receiver of stolen mobile phones namely 2) Rameshwar @ Alloo aged 30 years s/o Udaiveer Singh r/o I-Block, Bapa Nagar, Karol Bagh, Delhi. Both were questioned and facts were verified by technical means. Both have disclosed their involvement in committing crime. Hence, the information was given to PS Paharganj. Both were subjected to sustained interrogation and was subsequently arrested by the I.O of the case.

During further investigation, raids were conducted by the joint team of Special Staff and PS Paharganj and 18 stolen mobile phones were recovered at the instance of accused Sumit @ Hakla and 21 stolen mobile phones were recovered at the instance of accused Rameshwar @ Alloo from their residence.

Profile of the accused persons:
1) Sumit @ Hakla has studied up to 8th standard. He fell in bad company and to fulfill his needs he started stealing mobile phones and others goods from shops/Godowns/house.

2) Rajesh Kumar @ Chikna has studied up to 6th standard, later he was engaged in his family business manufacturing Oil lamps. He fell in bad company and started to purchase stolen mobile phones and to sell the same in busy market and to passerby on a good profit.

3) Rameshwar @ Alloo has studied up to 11th standard. Earlier he had worked in printing press. He fell in bad company and in order to fulfill his need he started to purchase stolen mobile phones and to sell the same in busy market and to passerby on a good profit.
