New Delhi : Team of Special Cell SR has nabbed two notorious and highly dreaded dacoits namely Dhoom Singh@Lala (age 49 yrs) s/o Chetran r/o Abhinagar Distt Bagpat UP and Wasim (age Yrs) s/o Mohmmed Ishtyaq r/o Ashiyana Colony Hapur Road Meerut UP today on 10/07/19 at about 8.47 pm near Gazipur Mandi after a brief exchange of fire.
Brief of their arrest are that on a tip off received in Special Cell SR about arrival of above two above dacoits near Gazipur Mandi, a team led by Insp Shivkumar was constituted and trap was laid near Mandi Two persons riding upon a scooty were spotted. On identification of informer, both were asked by police to surrender but duo whipped out their pistols and fired upon members of police team without any provocation. Sub Inspector Karambir and Head Constable Aadesh Kumar were hit by 2 bullets, but they were luckily remain unhurt thanks to Bullet proof jackets they were wearing.
Police team also fired in self defence to disarm and overpower the desperados in which Dhom Singh was injured in leg and arm. Dhoom Singh has been immediately rushed to LBS Hospital.
About 5/6 rounds were fired by arrested two dacoits. Police fired 6 rounds in self defence to overpower the criminals.
One pistol of .32 with 7 live cartridges from Dhoom Singh and one single shoot pistol with 2 live cartridges and a scooty have been recovered from duo.
Dhoom Singh was having a reward of Rs 50000/- from Delhi Police in the case of dacoity committed by him with the help of his five associates on 21/02/19 at 4 pm near Akshardham Mandir.
Brief facts of case of said dacoity are that on 21/02/19, two businessmen from Haryana having Poultry Farms had collected payments of Rs 31 lacs from Gazipur Murga Mandi and they were heading towards ISBT Kashmiri Gate in an auto rickshaw. Both the businessmen were waylaid by 3 bike born 6 dacoits including kingpin Dhoom Singh and robbed the businessmen of Rs 31 lacs at gun point.
When dacoits were running after committing the dacoity, two local police persons in uniform upon a bike, on seeing the commotion, arrived at scene. Both the police persons chased the fleeing but fully armed six dacoits. These dacoits fired upon policemen to deter them not to chase and to escape themselves. Aash Mohmmed, an associate of dacoits was overpowered and caught with his firearm at spot by police with the help of public, but remaining 5 criminals fled the spot after loot.
Dhoom Singh is a highly desperate criminal already wanted in three sensational cases of armed dacoity in Delhi.
Apart from above case, he along with his 7 associates including Wasim had robbed Rs 40 lacs at gun point from petrol pump employees in the year 2012 from the area of PS Vivek Vihar Delhi.
Dhoom Singh along with his associates had also looted cash of Rs 18 lacs from another businessman at gun point at NH 24 near Yamuna Bridge in the area of PS Sunlight Colony on 29/08/18.
Further interrogation ofx Wasim and investigation of case is being conducted in the matter.
