SPECIAL CELL, DELHI POLICE : ABSCONDING DRUG SPPLIER RAJESH@NONI@MUKESH ARRESTED

A team of Special Cell/SR led by Inspr. Shiv Kumar under the supervision of ACP Attar Singh has arrested a notorious absconding drug supplier namely Rajesh @ Noni @ Mukesh (age 36 years) s/o Jagmohan Singh r/o H. No. C-93/1, Sangam Park, Rana Pratap Bagh, Delhi on 05.06.2019 from the area of Sangam Vihar near Wazirabad Delhi. Arrested Rajesh @ Noni is wanted in a case of drugs seizure pertaining to PS Crime Branch, Delhi. He was carrying a reward of Rs. 50,000/- from Delhi Police in the aforesaid case on information leading to his arrest.

OPERATION

A team led by Inspr. Shiv Kumar was tasked to arrest absconding Rajesh @ Noni. Painstaking efforts of more than a month resulted in getting information about Rajesh @ Noni. Team members had to rush to various places in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana etc. and adjoining areas at a very short notice on various occasions to collect information about the fugitive. On 05.06.2019, a specific information was received that Rajesh @ Noni @ Mukesh would come near Sangam Vihar, Village Wazirabad, Delhi to meet one of his contacts between 12 to 1 PM. A trap was laid near Sangam Vihar, Wazirabad, Delhi, where Rajesh arrived at 12:30 PM. On the pointing out of informer, Rajesh @ Noni was nabbed by the members of the team and he was arrested under relevant section of the law.

INTERROGATION

Accused Rajesh @ Noni was interrogated at length. He admitted his role in the
case of drug supplying. Brief facts of the said case are that in the intervening night of
30-31/01/2019, a team of Crime Branch had arrested one Mumtaz Ali @ Anas @ Sahil
alongwith his associate Ramesh for possessing Poppy straw. Total 360 kgs of Poppy
Straw i.e. 20 bags, each bag containing 18 kgs poppy straw were recovered from his
Maruti Delivery Van. Accordingly, a case under NDPS Act was registered at PS Crime
Branch.  On interrogation it was revealed that Rajesh @ Noni @ Mukesh was the main
conduit of the seized contraband. Drug suppliers used to deliver poppy straw in trucks
at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Samaypur Badli, Delhi. After getting the delivery,
Rajesh @ Noni used to further supply the contraband to his contacts through Mumtaz
Ali and Ramesh. After the arrest of duo, Rajesh @ Noni went underground and had
hidden himself at different locations to evade his arrest.

PROFILE OF RAJESH @ NONI

Rajesh @ Noni @ Mukesh originally belongs to Himachal Pradesh and hails from an upper middle class family. His father retired from education department of Himachal Pradesh. Rajesh @ Noni has studied upto 12 th standard from Una (HP). He is married and has one son. In the year 2014, Rajesh @ Noni started an eating house (Dhaba) at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Delhi. During this period, he came in contact with some drug peddlers involved in the supplying of poppy straw. Lured by the easy and quick money, Rajesh @ Noni started indulging in drug supplying.

Further investigation is in progress and concerned police station has been informed about his arrest to take necessary action against him.
